Top Food Delivery Services – Nowadays your phone is your go-to device for just about anything. From shopping to reading to watching movies, to booking your train tickets to finding a date. There’s an app for anything and everything. It made sense then that there should be services that provide you food from your favorite restaurants when you don’t feel like going to them. So, these food delivery services or apps arrived on the scene and made their mark in no time. There are many to choose from, and new apps keep popping up every now and then. Here, in this article, we present to you, in no particular order, some of the most popular food delivery apps. All these apps are freely available on both Android and iOS platforms.

GrubHub:

It’s very popular and rated one of the best food delivery service by its users. Its success lies in its variety and coverage. It is available in 1,100 plus US cities and cover more than 100,000 restaurants. It is fairly simple and easy to use. The users can choose from the food they like, the cuisine, the name of the restaurants, address etc. The search is customizable and totally personalized. You can also benefit from the comments section provided there. There’s an option of saving your favorite dishes or restaurants for later use. It’s mostly free but some restaurants charge for the delivery service so it varies.

UberEATS:

UberEATS has made a name for itself in a very short time. You can use your existing uber account to use this feature. It will show you the places to eat from your current location. Once food is ordered it will give the estimated time of arrival as well. You can pay either by cash or credit. The app also gives you suggestion on highest rated restaurants as well as new places. The charges vary according to distance and time but it usually charges a base fare.

Doordash:

It’s a relatively new entrant on the scene but with presence in more than 1000 North American cities it has carved a niche for itself. An interesting feature on it is the changing menu according to the time of the day. You can expect breakfast, lunch and dinner menus as per the time. Unlike many other apps it delivers alcoholic beverages too. It has a restaurant rating feature called delight mode. Restaurants are rated there based on a number of factors like peoples’ comments, price, availability, delivery time, distance etc.  The shipping cost is different for every restaurant and some of them charge a service fee as well.

Seamless:

While not available in small cities and countryside it has been around for twenty years now. It is user friendly and easy to use. You can also avail discount codes and coupons they offer. You can also track your order in real time. There is also an option to pre-order your meal, four days in advance. It charges a flat fee of $6.

Postmates:

This app is unique in the way that it offers a US$ 10 subscription fee per month. It also delivers grocery items and not just meals. It covers thousands of cities across the US and the search criteria is very diverse.

Delivery.com:

Like Postmates this too not just delivers meals but groceries and beverages too: even alcoholic ones. In fact, it goes a step further as it also takes care of your laundry. It is available in hundreds of cities and thousands of businesses are affiliated with it. You can also track your order once it has been placed. You just have to enter your current location and it will show you what’s around and lets you order based on different criteria.

Caviar:

This service is available in a few cities only and it has positioned itself as the food delivery service of high-end restaurants. Go through its menu, order what you like and have it delivered at your doorstep in a very short time. Their delivery time is almost always accurate. You have to be ready to receive your order though if you do not show up at your pick-up point within ten minutes the order stands canceled.

Munchery: Chef Crafted Fresh Food Delivered:

Another food delivery service that runs on a monthly subscription: USD9 to be precise. Your shipping costs are covered in this subscription. You have to pre-order your meal in this app. You can pre-order anywhere from 1 hour to 1 week. The food costs less here than any other app. It also donates a dish to the needy on every order you place. Their coverage is limited but the quality of their service is great. They change their menu almost every day so you won’t get bored of the same old dishes.

Gopuff Delivery:

It also delivers food, desserts, groceries and so much more. Their charges are flat. For every order they charge you US$2. The products are neatly categorized for you to comfortably choose from. The products have been rated for your convenience. You can search a particular product by its brand name or by the name of its manufacturer. Its all very effective and user friendly.

Eat24 Food Delivery and Takeout

As is evident from its name this service is available anytime in the day and night. It is targeting all those night owls with this strategy. The service is pretty generous as there are discount codes available almost all the time. The ordering process is simple and easy to follow. There are different criteria and filters that you can apply to order what you exactly want. You can also add it to favorites for re-ordering later. These are some of the most popular and widely used food delivery services. You may choose the one that appeals you the most.
